About Annamaria

Before taking up her position at IE Business School, Annamaria was an Associate Professor at HEC Lausanne and an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta.

In the field of entrepreneurship, Annamaria has used data from Israeli and US start-ups to examine the signalling value of patents, the role of R&D grants in spurring innovation by new ventures and the role of venture capitalists’ monitoring capital in upgrading start-ups’ value.

She has also investigated cohort and gender effects on graduate students’ placement, using economic data from Europe. Her research has been published in journals like Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Research Policy and Journal of Economics & Management Strategy.

Before her academic career, Annamaria worked as an economist for Caterpillar S.a.r.l and various other international organisations.
