Mini MBA in Management
Module 2

Decision Analysis

framing decisions / performance metrics / behavioural tendencies

Decision-making, as well as evaluating or supporting the decisions others make, is a key aspect to effective leadership. And this module will help you understand how leaders can better analyse the choices they face and create a consistent approach to decision-making.

By the end of this module, Yael Grushka-Cockayne will give you a better understanding of framing decisions, evaluating alternatives and assessing risks and uncertainties. You’ll also discover the consistent performance metrics behind how decisions are effectively justified and communicated to others.

With a case-based approach spanning two different industries, you’ll learn how individuals make decisions in practice and how some behavioural tendencies may cause conflict between individual and organisational objectives. Ultimately, you’ll develop a key set of prescriptions for combining the normative approach to decision-making (how we should make decisions) with the behavioural considerations (how we do make decisions).
